With Party Poker and Bwin merging their poker players, all eyes were on rival network iPoker to see what their next move would be. After their high-profile split (great for players!) at the end of last year, this huge poker network have been hitting the headlines already in 2013.
Not only do we see another high profile and popular brand joining up in the form of Betfair, but synchronized tournament breaks – along with a cool tournament super-sale – have given this network’s tournament section a huge boost.
Betfair To Leave OnGame And Join iPoker
Betfair have announced their plan to join iPoker later this month – though no exact date was specified. They cited the many advantages of the PlayTech software in their press release. These included the fast-fold poker, casino games and ‘rich playing experience’.
At the same time, Betfair will continue to offer OnGame’s tables to their players. I’m not sure exactly how this will work (from a platform standpoint), but a site which bridges two different major poker networks would be a welcome innovation.
