Cereus Poker closed shortly after ‘Black Friday’ in 2011, players have still not been refunded any money – nor do I see much chance of this.
There are still several smaller poker networks which welcome US Players, the leading one is Merge (flagship site Carbon Poker) and there have recently been movements to revive the ailing Cake Poker network too, with Lock Poker buying this network and about to relaunch it as the Revolution Gaming Poker Network.
I ill leave this page here, if nothing else it will serve as a reminder that as poker players we should not leave all of our eggs in one basket!
Cereus Poker is a two-site network and is actually the 6th largest poker site (collectively) with more than 20,000 concurrent players’ at peak times. The members of this network are currently only Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker – who are in fact owned by the same holding company.
While these big US-Friendly brands maintain separate identities, they now share players as well as a back-end security centre, improving the game selection, size of tournaments on offer and also the peace of mind for their players. We recommend the Cereus sites for US and worldwide players looking for a softer alternative to the poker giants Stars and Tilt.
