Following a similar innovation from Carbon Poker a few months ago – Titan Poker (biggest site on the iPoker Network) are now offering a free poker calculator for their real money players.
Here I will show you the calc and explain the basics, then go on to ask how this compares to other calculators currently available.
This is downloadable, and acts as a mentor as well as an showing your best hand and the odds and outs. I like this idea, since it is easy for new players to make (expensive mistakes) while getting to know the games.
Here is a screen-shot of how the new software will work. The advice will be tailored to your hand… you do not have to take it of course – that is up to you.
PB Network readers already get $20 extra free (along with your 200% first deposit match) at Titan, with bonus code PBKLUB – think of this software as an add-on which could save you making a costly error while you clear the bonus cash!! Click here to check out Titan Poker for yourself now!
Titan Poker Calculator – How Does It Compare?
The Titan Poker Mentor is a very simple idea. While it sees the cards (both your own and the community cards), it does not monitor stack sizes or follow the tendencies of your opponents. This will help people at the very start of their poker journey not to make odds / outs mistakes which are too horrific! Though it will not necessarily teach good strategy.
Carbon Poker’s free calculator is much better, this contains a ‘heads-up-display’ which keeps track of your opponent’s tendencies, allowing you to change your strategy to beat them. The calculator is more powerful too, and works with both Texas Holdem and Omaha. This is more like the commercially available software solutions, though tailored to Carbon Poker’s tables!
Indicator Software – Better Still For Specific Games
Neither of these free poker software tools is as good as the ‘Indicator’ products for helping beginners learn to beat the games. There are 3 indicators for different games – Holdem Indicator (cash), Tournament Indicator and Omaha Indicator.
What these do that the free calculators above do not is assess opponents and put them into different categories – at the same time as offering strong advice based on odds, outs and the probability of your hand being the best at any given moment.
These tools are approved by the major rooms and poker networks (they do not play for you, just offer extremely good advice). They can definitely keep you out of trouble, and can help you make a profit while you learn if the cards treat you kindly!
My favorite is Tournament Indicator – many of your opponents will be using this against you right now!!
